Landmark Web UI Display Options

In Landmark Under Configure Applications and Configured Web Applications we have the "show using" option.  My understanding at Inforum was if we wanted the Rich Client like Web UI we should select "SoHo Xi".   My understanding was that would be available in the December release of Landmark.  We are on the February release and it's just not quite there.  I'm trying to confirm if that is the direction that Infor is pursuing and thus that is the selection we should make.  We plan on going live with GHR in September and are about to start end user training.  We would like to confirm and set appropriately.  There is a big difference in navigation depending upon the selection chosen.  We just want to be configured based upon future direction.  Does Infor have any recommendations and or have others selected "SoHo Xi' and if so what do you think?

Good morning! I wanted to get back to you on this question and see if I could help clarify. Today, the Landmark based technology products are using what is called SoHo 3.x controls. This is a set of UI standards developed by the Hook & Loop team that all products adopt to enable a common look and feel across all Infor applications. The Hook & Loop team had released the SoHo 4.x (referred to as SoHo Xi) controls some time ago, and the Landmark development teams have been working to adopt those new standards. It is a very complex undertaking that has several key parts and has taken several years to fully adopt.



First the Landmark Technology team needs to adopt a base SoHo Xi framework and make it available to the application teams. Then the application teams need to go through and rearchitect their online user experience to take advantage that new framework. So today, the vast majority of the framework work is complete at the technology layer, and the GHR and CSF teams are now working to rearchitect their applications. This work is ongoing and will be released in phases, based on the different roles in the application. Some will start coming out in the next month or two, others this summer, with the target for the complete release by Inforum in September. Customers will be able to adopt these changes at their own speed as they become available, in a role by role fashion - so that they can be adopted more flexibly.



There are actually two flags that will need to be flipped to enable the SoHo Xi changes. One is a master switch to enable SoHo Xi to even be available. That switch is not exposed today because we are not ready for this rollout to begin. It has been exposed for several early adopter (controlled availability) customers who we are working directly with on their feedback here. The second flag is at the individual web application level - which is what you are showing in your screen shot - which would allow for that role by role flexible rollout I noted above. You can individually turn on (and off) individual web applications so as to better control the change management for your end users as this is new framework is adopted.



So, long story short, we are not quite ready - but soon. Hope that helps some.
