Ordering for Multiple sites and asset locations

Good afternoon,

We are wanting to have an asset location build for a smaller offsite location.  The users at that location will be ordering from RQC and we would like items for them to source from their location first for replenishment, then from the 'main campus' if it is not stocked at the offsite location.  (They are built in a different company and Location than the 'main campus'.)  Is someone who has already worked through this process willing to share with me your process and any pitfalls we should watch for?

We created an IPA to do this. The IPA un-releases the requisition and makes the changes to the from location for the line and clears all the fields like Contract Number, price ... then re-releases it.



The problem with the flow which is more of user education because you cannot programmatically tell what someone wants is: If an item is requested and becomes a non-stock you may have to buy it by the case. If the item now is going to be stock and the enduser can get it sooner they may only need a box or two, how do you handle this. What we did was leave these instances where the uom conversion factor are different between the Non-stock and now the stock item as un-released and send an email to the Warehouse manager and the end-user with a message telling them to verify the quantity and UOM and re-release. It is the endusers responsibility to do this but the warehouse managers wanted to be aware so they could assist with what the distribution options are. Also they might par it for them.
