Question for Lawson / Kronos Users

Hi all we utilize Kronos for Time and Attendance and it interfaces with Lawson. Currently we also use their TTE system for recording in and out time punches via the phone system. The TTE system will not be supported after December 2019.

We are currently looking at the updated Kronos phone recording system: Teletime. This system does not look like it will meet all of our needs and we want to explore other options.

Can you share:

1. What system do you use for Time and Attendance?
2. Do you use a separate product to record in and out clocking?
3. How do your employees record time: phone system, computer, time clock?
4. If you clock via phone, does this product integrate with Kronos?
5. Contact person of that company if different than Kronos.

we use powerschool smartfind express unified talent. the employees take their time off in that system. you can use phone or browser. for us a school district we have it setup for when a teacher takes a sick day it will call out for a sub to take their place. for me it would not do that cause i am not a teacher. I have an interface that i run early morning to add or update employees. also in the morning i export the daily data from the system and import it into kronos. myself i do not use kronos nor does the teachers but we have 900 other employees that do use kronos. their time off shows up in their. when we run payroll I have a export to a csv from smartfind that is used in pr530 to get the time off records for payroll plus another export from smartfind csv for lp570. their is also a exports from kronos for both lp570 and pr530 processing. it works. do not know if you have both situations.

Hi Edith,

We use Kronos for Time and Attendance and interface into Lawson for payroll processing. We use Kronos timeclocks and PC access to record clock in/transfers/clock out and do not provide an option to clock in/out via phone. Our remote locations without access to a timeclock or remote employees utilize the PC to badge in/out.

We mostly use timestamp for our employees but we do have some badge readers available for the area that do not have a PC available. We also allow mobile time stamp just for the areas that do not have readers or PC available. Home Health, and workers like that.

We use Kronos Workforce Ready.

We use time clocks, PCs and the mobile app which employees can use on their cell phones and mounted tablets. We have group that actually travels with a clock after having used tablets on the road last year. So we use just about everything except landlines to collect time. All depends on the needs of that area.

We collect in/out punches, we drop hours automatically for salaried staff, we use scheduler for one group and we also use the time off accrual product in Kronos simultaneously with absence management in Infor.

We load hours w/earnings codes via PR530. Everything but scheduler works smoothly, we are struggling a bit with some of the shift swap functionality in Kronos.

We use Kronos Dimensions, we used to use teletime, but we have replaced that with using their mobile functionality in dimensions. Our employees that do not use mobile use their computers to clock in and out with Kronos Dimensions. All the employee data is pulled from Kronos Dimensions and interfaced to Lawson for payroll.

We recently met with Kronos and inquired about TTE no longer being supported at the end of this year and were told there is no end date on TTE. It is supported in both 8.0 and 8.1. Where did you get your infromation from on TTE?

We are on windows server 2003 as well and the IT guys are pushing for the upgrade. However we use all of the clock codes except for maybe 1. We currently have 61 active pay rules. So for something like a meeting work rule we have the possibility of 61 different TeleTime IP alias codes to support them. It will be a mess for sure.

I was told whatever they are wanting to run Teletime IP that TTE was not supported.

Thank you for the reply, I work with Edith and wanted to see if I could get a little more detail.. Is there a separate client/app that you install on the PC specifically for clocking or do employees clock directly in the Kronos Worforce Central client?

Thank you for the reply and details, I work with Edith and wanted to see if I could some additional information.. Is timestamp a separate application/software or a Kronos product? In Teletime, they call the clocking "timestamp". Just wondering if this is an additional option from Kronos or a 3rd party product. Any details you can share would be appreciated.

Do you know if the mobile portion requires geo fencing for the setup?

Timestamp is what is available within Kronos navigators it is a form of a widget type. I believe it is a standard Kronos product. Feel free to email me directly if I can help anymore. sally.leow@phci.org

Dimensions is a replacement for Workforce central. Mobile does not require geo fencing you can have it for some but not all, completely up to you. Dimensions is the new Kronos product that is Saas and is hosted in the google cloud.

Some employees punch on a clock & some are auto created and then adjusted in kronos...We interface in detail.

There are ways to use Kronos Mobile that are fully integrated with Kronos; They have an app.

Hi Edith,

Have you looked into the Kronos Mobile App features? We used Kronos v8.0 before moving to the Infor WFM solution and we had remote locations that used the Kronos Mobile app to clock in and out. It also supports geo-fencing so you can limit employees to clocking in at the location where they work instead of punching in from the car if they get stuck in traffic.

We also used the Kronos TeleTime product for our home coders but most of them just did basic in/out punches without any crazy work rule transfers or labor level changes.

Thanks Brian, yes we are working with Kronos in looking at other options. Mobile App is one of them. Teletime seems to work for basic in/out punches but gets messy with work rules and labor level changes. Not ideal for our floating employees. Thank you Edith.

I have a question that may take this discussion in a different direction. We are currently using Kronos WFC for timekeeping and I guess some sort of Kronos analytics software. We are a new implementation for CloudSuite GHR/HCM (Note to Infor: Pick a name and stick with it).

Anybody considering Infor Workforce Management as an alternative? I have no idea how the two stack up against one another, but I do have one big question:

We have Kronos timeclocks everywhere; it's how people clock in and clock out. Is there any opportunity to leverage all those time clocks if we were to move from Kronos to Infor WFM, allowing users to continue using those devices for timekeeping?
