ACA - IRS Rejecting Replacement File

I'm having trouble getting the my 1095-C replacement file accepted.

The replacement file was rejected with the error message If Form 1094C 'OriginalUniqueSubmissionId' has a value, then it must match the Unique Submission ID ('ReceiptId'|'SubmissionId') of a Submission containing original records that was rejected in a partially accepted transmission.

I confirmed the file included the OriginalUniqueSubmissionId of the original file.

I contacted the IRS and was told that since the original file was not partially accepted, I need to have a data element 'OriginalReceiptID' in the replacement file rather than 'OriginalUniqueSubmissionID'.

Did anyone else have their original file rejected and successfully submit a replacement file? Did your replacement file include the data element 'OriginalReceiptID'? If so, how did you set up your BN299 to get that field instead of 'OriginalUniqueSubmissionID'?

We had to submit replacement files last year and did have OriginalReceiptID in the file. You will enter the receipt ID you received from the IRS for your original submission on BN89. Then on BN299, select Submission Type of Replacement on the Selection tab. On the Correct/Replace tab, you will select that receipt ID and the original submission ID under the Replacement section. I don't remember having to do anything else, but it has been a while since we went through that process. Hope that helps!

Thanks. That's what I've done but the replacement file then has a field called 'OriginalUniqueSubmissionID'. The IRS is telling me that since the original file was rejected, the replacement file should have the field 'OriginalReceiptID' instead of 'OriginalUniqueSubmissionID'.

I your original was rejected and the original contained only one submission (one employer), I would think that you would simply submit another original. As I understand it, the only time you need to send a replacement is when your original file contains multiple submissions and one or more of the submissions is rejected; then, you use the OriginalUniqueSubmissionID to refer back to the original submission that failed.
