Add-In showing data in wrong field

In a custom table we created there is a new field called Business Purpose (like a description field) and the users type in information explaining why they are going on a business trip or why they need a cash advance. When using Add-Ins to pull back the data it looks normal if it is the only field being queried. If one or more fields / columns are pulled before the Business Purpose field that data occasionaly shows up in the first field / column. No visible pattern to when it happens. Has anyone seen this before?
