Adding a checkbox in Syteline 8.03 that is Enabled When based on Dates

I cannot find any documentation that supports date variations for Enabled When functionality.

I basically want the check box to be True when certain date criteria is met. IF the date is blank or if the date is prior to the given date.

I cannot seem to get the check box to display whether a variable or object using conditions. However, it does display True or False in the grid. As well, it does not display either True or False in the grid if the date is blank which should equate to TRUE.

Documentation has stated that this method is best supported through Enabled When.

Does anyone have any incite or know of any advanced technical documentation for this feature?

It sounds like you are wanting a derived property for this "Active" field. EnabledWhen just toggles whether something is editable or not, like a button to click, or a field to type information into. If you are wanting the checkbox to be checked under certain conditions, EnabledWhen won't get you there. You will want to add a derived IDO property called DerActive and set the definition equal to something like:

CASE WHEN ISNULL(SomeDateField,'1/1/1900') < ISNULL(EndDate,'1/1/1900') THEN 1 ELSE 0 END

This requires both of the fields in question to be stored as properties which can be done with a temporary table keying off of a SESSIONID.

If you can't make them properties, then, the only option is formScript to loop through your collection and update an unbound (important) property to checked or unchecked based on your date conditions.

The enabled when operator doesn't handle null values, you will have to specify your conditions to read something like this: P(DueDate) > "5/11//2019" AND P(DueDate) <> "". Another way is to edit the IDO property, component, variable to display a default date when there is no data for displayed such as "1/1/1900" instead of "". This isn't documented as far as I know, just something I picked up along the way. These behavior actions are useful, so I can deal with the lack of documentation.

Unfortunately we cannot use a default date and I have tried the conditions as you have explained without success prior to submitting this question. Ergo, my dilemma.

What is your expression for the enabled when? Have you tried placing a StdObjectSelectCurrentEvent to set a variable to the date property in question to make sure that when the date is blank, to use script to set the date to "1/1/1900", otherwise set the variable to the date property and base your expression off of this variable instead?

My conditions are currently :

Enabled:#C(ActiveEdit),#C(EndDateGridCol) <> #P(EndDate) OR #C(EndDateGridCol) < #P(EndDate) OR #C(EndDateGridCol) = " ", Literal value = 1

Enabled:#C(ActiveEdit),#C(EndDateDateCombo) <>#P(EndDate) OR #C(EndDateDateCombo) <#P(EndDate) OR #C(EndDateDateCombo) = " ", Literal value = 1

This is the condition I am trying to meet: - ListYesNoType (True/False 0/1; automatically true if no end date or prior to end date).
