Does anyone have a DC plan (403b) setup as follows?
- Plan allows employees to contribute a percent as pre-tax, post-tax or both (pre-tax & post-tax)
- Company match is 50% of the first 4% of the employee contribution. This is not a problem when employee is contributing only as pre-tax or post-tax. When an employee is contributing both, if the pre-tax is < 4%, we match the pre-tax (50%) and the remaining % of the post-tax. We have match deductions codes for pre-tax and post-tax.
Example: Employee is contributing 2% pre-tax and 5% post-tax; we match 50% of the 2% pre-tax and 2% post-tax.
- We created a custom calculation for the match because the BN18.4 will not know to split the % if the employee has both. The custom calc calculates the employee deduction based on the setup and determines if the employee has both to split the match.
Problem, when an employee is reaching the Federal limit, Lawson reduces his deduction based on the remaining amount. The custom calculation is calculating the match from the employee % setup so it will give a match based on the entire "normal' deduction amount and not the reduced amount.
Anyone matching a pre-tax and post-tax contribution and splitting the match based on a %?
Thanks!
