Is anyone using PunchOut with Office Max? We would like to have desktop delivery instead of sending everything to receiving.
We are, but it's not perfect.
We punch-out, then send the PO's over EDI (using GHX).
That process is smooth, and if everything were being dropped at Receiving, the rest would be easy. But, desktop delivery adds several layers of complexity.
As best as we've been able to determine, you can only send the Requesting Location Code - according to the documentation, "The supplier maintains a cross reference list of req loc codes to destination locations." Assuming your locations are discrete, and make sense, this works fine. But, sometimes the driver can't find a location, or he/she gets there and no one is willing to sign for the delivery.
Assuming one requisition per PO, it might also be possible to send the Requesting Location Name as part of the ship-to segment (like you would for JIT deliveries)
Ideally, Office Depot wants us to send the requester information (name and/or phone), but we can't find that option within the EDI setup, nor has Office Depot been able to provide any clients who have this working.
Finally, Office Depot told us on the last call, that they aren't really signing-up punchout/desktop-delivery/EDI customers.
