Is there a way to convert BOD UserArea Data Types to Non-Strings?

The BODs UserArea Data Types are all strings. Is there a way to convert these to the correct data types?

Ex) <UserArea>
<Property>
<NameValue name="oeeh.totlineret" type="decimal">0</NameValue>
</Property>
</UserArea>

The parameter from this is string and need it to be decimal.

totlineret

Shipment/ShipmentHeader/UserArea/Property/NameValue[@name="oeeh.totlineret"]

No. the standard schema definition treats it like string. You can typecast it through mapper.

It's true that the value of the "Property/NameValue" node that is the default structure in the UserArea is defined as a string:

but as Sarada mentioned in an earlier response you can define the type to the receiver for handling via the @type attribute, e.g.:

And if that doesn't work for you (it doesn't change the schema so ION Mapper won't recognize the typecast), you can always extend the schema to add your own schema within any UserArea node and include whatever structure, nodes and datatypes needed. This is an example of adding an API weather response to the user area of a shipment BOD:
