PMTOUT File and Ceridian

We currently use Ceridian to print checks. 10 years ago, we were on a version of Lawson that was too high for Ceridian so we created an custom job that reverted the PMTOUT file to an older version.

Now Ceridian is upgrading their site and let us know our custom job is outdated! They asked for our standard PR160 file (10.0.6) which we sent. They are telling us there are validation errors. They forwarded v9 and early v10 file layouts and asked if we could produce a PMTOUT file in an earlier version. which is NO.

Bottom line, they are telling us they can't read our PMTOUT file but wanting to talk to Lawson about it because they think we don't understand.

Does anyone have any experience with this? It looks like we will have to create another interface.

Do you also have Lawson generate an ACH tape file?

When we upgraded form 9 to 10 we had our Laser Check / Email Vendor reprogrammed the program. There should be a specification document on extreme. We used Neps.

Thanks to everyone who answered. We do have Lawson generate our ACH tape file. Our output matches the file layouts for PR160. We are waiting to hear what is happening. Hundreds of Infor clients (including Infor) use Ceridian for check printing and they don't have issues.

The file formats may check out -- all fields are in their expected locations. Pay close attention to Batch and File total records. They may not be balanced.

We have noticed some "anomalies" in the Lawson generated that ACH Tape file with large amounts. Specifically when the sum of all the credit detail records roll over the total that can be contained in single debit detail record.

Depending on your banking institution, they may overlook the anomaly or they may flag it.
