Exempt for FUTA

Does anyone have a situation where they have a Reimbursable employer that is exempt from FUTA? I ask this question as I have been able to override the tax calculation in BSI but cannot figure out how to override the accumulation of the Futa wages.

Any information anyone can supply would be appreciated.

I believe on the Pay Summary group pr20.2 you can dictate it is a reimbursement. I would test this first.

If the reimbursable employer is its own HR Co then just don't set up a deduction for FUTA in Lawson. This would keep it from accumulating taxable wages but of course BSI will still send errors that the deduction isn't set up.

I was afraid of that...............when we went live with Lawson, it was based on one HR Co and the PL's were assigned to it's perspective Head Process Level (Reporting Entity). Any other options or work-arounds would be appreciated by all.

HI John - You mentioned 'reimbursement' and I am talking about a Reiumbursable employer for FUTA tax. Not sure if we are talking about the same thing and just calling it something different. I checked out PR20.2 and do not see where you can define at the Pay Summary Group level that it is for a reimbursable employer. And, unfortunately, both our reiumbursable companies and non-reiumbursable companies share the same set of pay summary groups.

PR20.5 allows the user to link deductions to a Pay Summary Group. Each deduction (i.e. FUTA) applicable to the Pay Summary Group can be set to "Exempt" or "Taxable". This might be an option to test.

Hi 283449 - Thanks for the recommendation and that would work if our Reiumbursable Companies and Non-Reiumbursable Companies didn't share the same Pay Summary Groups :-(
