M3 Cloud / ION and MBM initiator

Hi all,

We are actually migrating from M3 10.1 to 13.4. No decision has been taken yet if we will go direct to the cloud or stay on-premise. There is a bunch of interfaces to upgrade (Infor OS is our new platform) and most of outbound interfaces are using MBM initiator to trigger a mapping in MEC : customizations have been done in 10.1 but could be replaced by using MNS260 in order to be "cloud compliant".

According to M3 road map and regardless of M3 cloud/M3 on-prem, MBMi should disappear (CRS945/CRS949) being replaced exclusively by EventHub/EventAnalytics (event management system).

Can someone confirm this information ? If MBMi functionnality disappear, it means that MNS260 will disappear as well and we need to imagine other triggers.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I am vey interested in this answer as well. We are upgrading from 10.1 to M3CE and are using the MBM initiator for interfaces. As of now MNS260 still exists in M3CE (just checked). /Fons

Hi,

This is false information! CRS945 and CRS949 in M3 CE work exactly as for on-prem. MBM Initiators are used by standard M3EDI BODs and FBMs in the cloud. MBM Initiators can also be used to trigger outbound custom BODs, EBMs or other custom XML messages. The difference is that the MBM Initiators are transported to Event Analytics as events (M3:MBMInitiator:Q). CRS949 must be set up for this: Media = MBMEVENT, Service ID = *JOB

MNS260 also works in M3 CE. Pre-defined MBM Initiators can be set up in MNS260 and scheduled, just as for on-prem. These MBM Initiators will of course also be created as events (M3:MBMInitiator:Q).

Thank you for your reply. Have no credentials to this link but did some tests and this is working as expected.

Some screenshots below for those who need more information.

Create your entry in MNS260 :

Set up CRS945/CRS949 accordingly (use F14 in CRS929 to generate missing media MBMEVENT if necessary)

Create your rule in EventAnalytics, reload session...

...and test it by launching manually MNS260 + option 9:

Note that Event Analytics rules written in textual Drools code cannot be converted to the cloud. Rules created in Smart Rules (which can be generated as Drools code) can be imported in the Event Analytics Rules UI in the cloud.

Correct.

As we cannot use EventAnalytics & Smart Rules with MBMInitiator event (because SR is asking for a table name only), the solution is to :

- subscribe MEC to MBMInitiator:Q events coming from M3

- re-create the former MBMi xml message with a first mapping then re-detect it like if it was a normal MBMi
