Smart Office to Ming.le V11: Tips for users?

Hello,

We are (slowly) retiring the Smart Office application, and users will move to Ming.le V11. We went live with Lawson V10 in 2017, and most end users use Ming.le. Our backend/funcational users are on Smart Office.

There is hesitation because of the Smart Office multi-form ability within the application. Mainly, multiple Lawson forms could be open at once.

What have other Ming.le users done to accommodate opening multiple forms at one time? Is there a setting in Ming.le that we are missing that would allow this? Do we need to upgrade to Ming.le V12?

From Ming.le, your users should be accessing Portal and you can have lots of different screens open. You just minimize them and the are seen at the top of the screen.

I'm not sure if this is what you mean, but you can have multiple tabs open in Ming.le as shown here:

You use the + icon to open another tab.

Can you send a picture? This doesn't sound like it happens for us. We do not get multi screen when we enter portal- which leads me to think its our portal settings?

Also, we are still in foundation. I am guessing Ming.le Enterprise allows the multi-form use in tabs?

We figured out it can be done through LBI- but again, just Foundation. LBI is a plus though! Its going to be struggle to get folks away from Smart Office.

It's the Portal side that allows multiple screens being open, not Ming.le. If you are not there yet, you should get on Portal 10.1 as it has a lot more functionality, is free, and a simple install. We are on foundation as well and use multiple tabs in Portal. You have to set it under Role Maintenance by filling in newTab.htm under the New tab page section. We didn't see it originally either but once we did this users were able to use the new tab function w/o being on an enterprise version.
