Converting from Infor Infinium to Infor Lawson
unknown
I'm not sure if anyone can help me but thought I would give it a shot.
I am and IT Analyst tasked with finding out what we will do with our Infinium data that we are not converting to Lawson.
I'm assuming there are other Infor clients that have made this transition in the past and thought I would see if anyone would share how they handled this.
We obviously don't want to keep around an AS400 and Infinium licensing for GL records for 8 years or so.. any input would be greatly appreciated

We converted from a legacy AS400 Financial package to Lawson Windows. Based on retention requirements, we converted x years of AS400 data into Lawson using interface programs. I wrote AS400 programs to read and format the data into text/csv files that could be loaded to Lawson and run through the Lawson interface programs. We converted GL, AP, AR, Purchasing, Inventory, etc.

We just went live in May 2016 from Infinium GL to Infor Lawson GL.
For G/L we are started with ending balance on the balance sheet only, as of 12/31/11
Summary for 2012 and 2013
Detail for 2014 and 2015 until go live
These were imported via Addin's
Then we used AS400 functionality to run the Summary trial balances for previous years we needed to keep and converted them to PDF and saved on our network share drive.
We checked with our financial auditing firm to confirm this approach was sufficient for any audits that may come up in the future.
Hope this helps.
