IFS Configuration Confusion

Hi All,

I'm in the middle of an Infor OS installation / Configuration and am having some issues understanding the place of IFS.

Our business is using Cloudsuite Industrial and during the installation of Infor OS we moved CSI over to an AD FS Verified login for the webclient, so we could integrate it with OS. One of the questions that I found answered on xtreme was 'Where do I install IFS' - to which the answer was 'On the same server as your ADFS'. This is what we have done.

Now it seems to be the case that during the Infor OS installation (Onto it's own server), there has been another IFS instance installed? Any attempt that I make to try and login to it through the web browser ( OSSERVER.DOMAIN/IFSUI/ ) is met with the error "Invalid Tenant ID. Please sign out, clear your browser cache, and try again." I've tried these steps, but haven't had any luck.

Could anyone please clarify if i'm barking up the wrong tree here? Where would IFS be installed / accessible for a correct installation of OS? Was I correct to have done a solo installation of IFS on our AD FS Server?

Any help or clarification would be apprecaited!

InforOS is the IFS server. So if you are using InforOS that's where the IFS should sit.

In the scenario you are suggesting I would think that IFS install shouldn't have happened on the adfs server

If you arent using InforOS then you can use the standalone IFS installer, or have a need for just the IFS running somewhere, i.e this can act as a SCIM client if in Multi-Tenant Cloud etc.

When InforOS installs you have to set up the relay party trusts with your ADFS servers etc.

You can set up separate ADFS servers for InforOS

Last time I was working with it we did

InforOS TST - ADFS TST

InforOS DEV - ADFS DEV

that kept it all tidy especially when developing.

Then inside InforOS you add in your applications ie Cloudsuite Industrial.

Question though, if you have Cloudsuite Industrial, shouldn't InforOS be provisioned in the cloud with the application?

Sorry do not know industrial at all.

I'm beginning to think that 'Where should IFS sit' question on xtreme was an answer for a user who wasn't using infor OS. This makes a lot more sense.

As for CSI, we've got that installed on premisis (we're not on 10.x yet), so at this stage everything is being handled locally.

Out of interest then, are you able to access the IFS instance on your infor OS Server using that URL? Am i looking in the right place?

Scratch that! I see that URL is no longer used, opting for the 'User Management' section in OS itself.

Yes IFS melts away into the big mega product called InforOS , and is really just the user management menu these days.
