Possible to read LN data to complete the data necessary for BOD?

We have a 3rd part integration with ION Connect.

The inbound data is incomplete, i.e. missing lines numbers, etc.

Is it possible to read LN data based on the incoming data, retrieve additional data elements to complete the bod?

Scenario is to record inbound Purchase Order Receipts. ReceiveDelivery BOD.

external provider is only capable of sending the Purchase Order number and the item number and quantity.

How can we determine an open line on the purchase order in the document flow?

Documentation suggests the PO line number isn't mandatory, but BOD is being rejected, unable to find an open line(line 0).

You should be able to use Extension of the Process Inbound User Area hook to do that (presumed that is present in the BOD sent)

Like that you should be able to set standard fields

Excerpt from "Infor LN Extensions Development Guide" :

• Update the linked tables with results of expressions

• The inbound processing is based on the presence of the UserArea but is not limited to fields in theUserArea.

• This processing of the UserArea is executed when the BOD component is completely processedby the BOD handler. The standard fields and the fields of the UserArea that are mapped to fieldsof the linked tables are processed already. The database records are updated, although not committedyet. To update the linked tables, select the current record again before updating the fields.

Is this available in 10.4? I have not found this guide for 10.4.

In 10.4 something similar was possible with CC-library - See www.inforxtreme.com/.../SoHoViewSolutionC.aspx

I can't help on this one - we are using 10.5 - and as i said - using ERP LN forum might provide you better answers.

BOD that is received in LN, has to have the necessary fields so ERP can process it. It will only process the CC library at the end, if everything else is ok. If some mandatory elements are missing from the BOD it will generate error and return Confirm BOD long before it will even reach the CC library. CC libraries in LN are replaced with Extensibility module in latest releases, so most probably that is why there is no documentation.

Route the data from external provider somewhere else, we usually do it with SQL db/tables.

Write the logic that will populate missing data from LN.

Then create a SQL procedure that returns new records in custom XML BOD.

Create a mapping to transform custom BOD to ReceiveDelivery BOD.

Alternatively develop small REST service, that will replace the last 3 actions.
