Time in Job Calculation

Hello! We are on premise and are using Landmark GHR (v11) as our record of truth and S3 for payroll, benefits, etc..

Our compensation team is needing to calculate time in job - either in a report, or a new field in GHR..

Here is an example...

Dates as they would show 8/2019:

Job Start Date: 10/18/2015 Job: 1240 Recruitment Coord Years in Job: 1.20*

Job Start Date: 01/01/2017 Job 2093 Recruitment Coord Lead Years in Job: 0.90

Job Start Date: 02/25/2018 Job 1238 Recruiter Years in Job: 1.50

*Years in Job field should calculate from job start date to current date, but stop calculating when a new job with a later date is recorded.

Should automatically update when employee record changes. Need to consider primary and secondary work assignments.

Does anyone have experience with this? Is it built in anywhere or is this all custom? If so, how did you approach?

Well, there is something like it in GHR...if you ctrl right click on the job number in WorkAssignment and choose view field history, you can view the jobs for that workassignment and get the dates that job was started in...so if I can find those tables in GHR, should be able to make a report.

The tables you are looking for are probably EmployeeFieldHistory and EmployeeTransactionHistoy. You may need to setup the history reports to populate those tables but not sure of that. Never looked at those tables until we had those reports generating and updating nightly.

You may also want to look at using a Replication set to pull the information. You can schedule the jobs and have them either create a new full report or just changes since the last time you ran the job. I believe the output choices are XML, JSON and CSV.

Yes, those tables are empty, so there must be a job that updates them. Where do you set that up? Much appreciated!

If you go into your on-line application help search on Employee History Reporting. There is a six page document on setting up and maintaining the data. I actually have the update job schedule to run nightly to keep it up to date. I am currently attempting to use this on IPA flows to replace when I would search HRHistory and PAHistory in S3.
