I'm trying to join two or more objects for eg., SalesOrder with Customer, location, warehouse in Data catalog. How to relate them in Object Schemas.
Documents of BOD type in Object schemas has that feature to establish relations between NOUNs using XPATH in Object Schemas-->Noun Properties
I'm looking for the same feature for JSON objects also but I didn't find this option for JSON type objects.
You cannot pre-define these relationships in the Data Catalog, but you can use joins when making the query using the Compass query tools.
Thanks for bumping this, Keith. Didn't see the post earlier
Keith is right on, this isn't possible as of yet today. Relationships are defined within the BOD's metadata (.XSD) today but we haven't yet expanded the framework to support non-BOD objects. Given the volume of data and unique object names people are replicating to their Data Lake, it's become more important for our roadmap to look at how to bake in relationship modeling that application teams can provide out of the box while also allowing developers to expand or create their own - especially for custom objects.
So, the less good news here is that we're not yet ready but this is a project we're going to start working on in several months. Hope to have something on the radar early 2021 to show out for everyone.
