ION monitor does not start ION Workflow

Hi,

I have a problem with ION monitor not starting Workflow.

I am sure monitor detects an event, I get alert email from the monitor.

Workflow is setup and active, however it does not get started by the monitor.

When I setup an activation policy for the same event it does start the same workflow.

Is there something I am missing?

When a monitor is configured to start a workflow, the Alert displays two buttons, One says "Done" and the other says "Resolve". Clicking on the "Done" button will clear the alert, but clicking on the "Resolve" button will clear the alert and trigger the workflow. This is one of the eight ways to trigger a workflow within Infor OS.

The eight ways to activate a workflow are

Directly from an Infor App such as LN, M3, or IDM through the app publishing the Process.Workflow BOD. This probably wouldn't do what you want.
Via an Activation Policy. This is how probably 98% of Workflows are triggered.
Within a Document Flow. Again, probably not your best bet.
From a Monitor, which requires the user to press the Resolved button on the Alert.
Manual Invocation from the Start Worklow Widget on Homepages. Again, not for you.
Schedule invocation from within ION Desk. Maybe this would work for you if you are triggering based on a reliable schedule.
Using the ION API for Infor Process. This might help, again, based on what you're wanting to do.
From within another Workflow.

Maybe, if you can share more specifics of your situation, we can help you determine the best, and most reliable, method.

like said Russel the Workflow is started directly by IDM (via ProcessWorkflow).

so it's not necessary to use a an activation policies.

Workflow starts, when person that has received alert, clicks button Done. Literally alert has to finish, to be able to start the workflow..

So if I need to just start Workflow (without any user's actions) I need to use activation policies, right?

I wanted to start workflow by document created on IDM.

Looks like Activation policy is the way to go.
