Is there an easy way to reassign tasks from a user who left the company?

Hi,

A user who left the company (offboarding), we want to remove his account in AD / IFS and the different other Infor applications. But the user has still several tasks assigned to him.

Is there an easy way to deal with these situations? I can set a filter to get a list via the ION activities but then I have to go into the assigned tasks one by one and redistribute them to someone else. When removing the user in AD, I think it will be synced to IFS and also removed there including the different security roles and distribution lists where this user is member of?

How to reroute any new tasks to another / new user? Or do I have to check all the different workflows, monitors etc and add another / new user to it?

Hi Gerard, You could try the "Task Manager" Widget which is designed for managing and re-assigning tasks. It should be in the Wdiget catalog as standard. Thanks. Gurmaj

Hi Gurmaj,

Yes I know this widget and when you have the authorizations for all the workflows you're able to manage a lot. But still one by one. You can't redirect via a filter or something all the tasks of a offboarding user. Like you can do via the out of office feature. If there's indeed no such way, maybe a good idea that I check the CR's. If there's nothing like this I can raise a CR.

Hi Gerard, I don't think there is a way to centrally set an out of office kind of feature on behalf of a user.. If the user has left already then potentially you could set the out of office for them (or their Manager could) , otherwise for a small no of tasks the Task Manager widget is OK if you know which wokflows to look for , I think it would be a good CR to see all tasks and re-assign more easily.

I understand that the ION Desk Activities UI and/or the Widget would be options, however they are singular.

I have not tried to use the API for this, but you could look at the assign task to user.

Have you considered impersonation of the user via the Infor Identities? This would require the IFS / System Administrator to perform some actions to set up, but it would then allow other inflight task to be transferred as well.

I did a quick test and was able to assign the task to another user that is on the distribution list for that task.

There is an a get task for a user for a workflow in Suite InforMingleAPI /IONDataService.Svc/User/{userGUID}/Workflow/{workFlowId}/Tasks
