M3 MT Cloud: How to pass the output values of api to UserArea of a BOD directly through a Workflow t

Hi,

I believe there is a way to insert values in an UserArea directly through an ION workflow which can be api outputs.

I can do this by MEC mapping changes but I only want to add 2 fields in 2 BODS BillToPartyMsster and ShipToPartyMaster as its an outbound Customer address change integration flow.

I want to avoid the MEC mapping changes here. My flow is Std BOD->XSLT map->Custom BOD->ION API Rest endpoint.

So in first step I want to keep the Std BOD as it is and bring the additional values from the workflow (apis) and enter it in user area and then pass the BOD to the XSLT mapping.

Please if anyone has an example can you please share how I can achieve this.

Hi Shashank,

You can do that by mapping the BOD XML attribute to the workflow output parameters when you trigger the workflow from Data Flow.

Thank you. I understand we set that in the ouput paramters. But do you have example of that, can you share the screenshots. I have not done this for UserArea before.

Below are the conditions (Are of MEC but want to avoid mec changes) I want to workout through an workflow I can try with Decision table or conditions.

But main question is how to set the NameValue and Name pair of user area in the below ion output parameters with workflow input parameters. this is for CRS610MI/GetOrderInfo

Hi Shashank, I don't have an example, but this is how you can accomplish it.
1. In the data flow, at the workflow step you need to add the attribute by selecting the user area node from the BOD and apply the filter for the name attribute. It will look like this (BillToPartyMaster/UserArea/Property/NameValue[@name="AddressID"])
2. Map the attribute to the Output Attribute under "Parameter Mapping".

Note: If these NameValue attributes in the BOD don't exist, it may not work as am not sure this data flow step will create the new XML node with value. If it's not working, you have to create the empty XML nodes for the required name values with the name attribute, so that the workflow step will update the XML node the value.
You can use XSLT mapping to create these empty nodes or via the python script step whichever you are familiar with.

Hi Prem,

Yes I want to use api values to insert it into UserArea newly. As std BOD does not have this values in output especially PYNO (Payer).

You are right I am looking for new XML node with values .

I will try and check if not I go with the mec mapping changes

i would recommend using an API Flow.

Instead of "Std BOD->Workflow->XSLT map->Custom BOD->ION API Rest endpoint", you would use

"Std BOD->API Flow"

Inside the API flow you would first call the api's you were previously calling in the workflow, then call the target endpoint.

Once you send the bod to the API Flow it is converted to json and you can use json path referencing from there on out.
