We are struggling with managing interim positions. We've tried to place an interim flag on a position when an incumbent is placed into an interim work assignment. However, when a manager is placed on leave or termed, the manager remains in the position. When we add the interim incumbent into the position, multiple supervisors are in the same position sharing a supervisor code (which causes issues with approving timecards and performance appraisals). These issues have forced us to create additional interim positions which creates additional work. In addition, positions have to be updated multiple times to report to the interim supervisor position and then back to permanent supervisor position. Has your organization developed a solution/work around to any of these issues? I'd appreciate whatever advise you may have.
