Passing LN attachment to the Workflows task

Hi All,

I am using purchase order workflow and using IDM to attach the document against the purchase order, I want the same PO attachment to be passed in the workflow for the reviewer.

Is it possible, Can we pass a attached document to workflow task from LN?

Please suggest.

If the doc is in IDM, why pass the file as an attachment? Why not pass the link to the document in IDM?

If you have control over how the BOD is constructed then send all or part of the URL to the doc in an element in the BOD. Then, depending on how the workflow is triggered, have the Activation Policy pass the link info to the workflow or have the Doc Flow pass the link info in the Workflow step. If the BOD only has part of the link, say just the document ID, then you can use the "Set Parameter" step in the Workflow to concatenate the rest of the URL together with the document ID string input parameter. Then you can include the final URL in an output parameter in the Task / Task Chain step in your workflow so the user sees it when they are reviewing the Task for approval.

An alernative is to use the document ID in a drillback in the workflow, but from my experience most people prefer a string parameter because users tend to notice the individual parameter data more than the little drill icon on the top of the Task screen.

Hi Keith,

I would like to do this also, but I would actually want to attached the document to the WF and the notification that gets sent. I would like to send the notification to a 'contact' email, which would be external (like a customer or vendor, or....), so the link wouldn't be accessible to them.

Hi Keith,

Has anything developed in the past couple years where we can actually attach the doc (PDF) to a task or notification via ION workflow ?
