Workflow and EAM API definition

Ladies & Gents:

I have the EAM metadata in hand, and an educated guess of tables we need to look at.

This is my first step into ION, but believe this is the right direction, but don't know where to staret

ION Workbench has two flows
Connection:DocumentFlow that features application and database connections, and ION API
Monitors & Workflow:Workflow, ION API

The Workflow looks to be the one, but I am unable to complete all the fields. Is anyone willing to provide guidance or advice ?

Welcome to the community.

So, it sounds like you have some pre-built content available to you but you're unsure what your next move is? In that case, it may help to understand a bit more on what you're trying to solve. Are you presently trying to integrate systems and transactions between EAM and another application? My assumption is that, given the title and forum, that you're looking to create some workflows based on some of your EAM data.

If so, what kind of workflow are you looking at right now? Which fields are causing heartburn? If you can upload a picture, that'd be a great start

Mike, you replied to my jdbc connector question, impressive. I am after EAM table data because we suspect a configuration bug, but it's just a suspicion. If we could look at the recs of a few tables, it would help. In the "old" days jdbc was more or less ubiquitous. The connection could be defined on app server, local workstation, lappy and it could be in IPA, or a POJO ( plain old jajva object). I could pipe through SQL and iterate the resultset. I don't think that's the case here.

Note that Infor EAM has SOAP APIs only at this time. The ION API step in Workflow only supports REST APIs. If you decide you want to consume EAM data from a workflow via an API you will have to wrap that SOAP API in something to convince the API Gateway that it is REST. (eg. some people have luck creating a Swagger definition for SOAP services along with Gateway JSON transform policies, some people write middleware to convert the calls)

I have pulled the ION API from Github. I am working my way through README and code, but the only REST reverences I see here are M3: M3/m3api-rest/execute/CRS610MI/ChgFinancial?CUNO=Y30000&BLCD=0

No, that is not the correct URL.

I think you will need to start from the beginning and explain what you are trying to accomplish. Please include details like:

1. Is this an on-premise, cloud, or hybrid environment.

2. If on premise please provide version #'s of all software involved

3. What software are you trying to query ( M3, EAM, or ??? )

4. What is the client (Workflow, Doc Flow, or some other application?

5. A summary of the business problem you are trying to solve.

3. If this is REST, I would expect I can access M3/CSF/EAM etc.

4. I think Docflow and Workflow both support ION REST access point

5. A REST that returns JSON/XML from an CSF or EAM table.

Here is an ION REST end point:

mingle-ionapi.inforcloudsuite.com/.../products

which does return JSON.

So, if I had a DocFlow, Workflow or aws EC2 instance running a Java application with Authorized Keys, I should be able to invoke the same end point and receive JSON, I don't need to have a CSF session.

** Please note that since posting this question I have made progress with SampleOAuth2 java web application.
