Activation policy failure

Hi.

I have built a workflow that I would like to be triggered by an activation policy. My problem is that I do not get the activation policy to work.

I have attached several pictures of the settings I have, including the active connection points and message listeners. I haven't included pictures of the host names etc. since that information is a bit sensitive, but I can say that we have tested all database connections and got OK from the system.

Would be very happy for any guidance you can give!

Can you check the tenantID from your incoming BOD and compare it with tenant ID of your AP ?

Hello Sofia, looks like you're very close to having a working model.

Like Maxime mentions, I'd take a look at the tenant ID. The tenant ID of the connection point used in your document flow doesn't match the tenant ID of the activation policy. They need to match. Similarly, the application involved in this needs to also have a matching tenant ID.

Connection point and document flows have nothing to with activation policies as far as i know. Activation policies are themself triggered through an event taking place in an outside system. once you set the conditions for activation policies your workflows would trigger. Notice that there is a difference between workflow and document flow.

1. document flows are triggered by the connection points as a result of a BOD coming into ION.

2. Workflows are triggered by activation policies as a result of an incoming BOD.

Activation policies will only allow BODs that match its filtering criteria.

If you feel all is in place, then the best place to look is OneView.

You can trace the message arriving, and being applied to the activation policy and the result of that policy. You can see the message content to make sure it is as you expect.

The Activities view also shows the Flow that have been initiated and details .

So if you consolidate point 1. and 2. you actually need incoming BOD to trigger Activation Policy, but Incoming BOD will only show up if there is a Connection Point and Document Flow defined and activated.. And then you could conclude that without Document flow that will pick up BOD somewhere and put it into ION, Activation policy is pretty much useless.

If this is on premise you don't need to use tenants at all as most probably it is just the default tenant there, and that is infor.
