Enable multiple rows selection in Current Materials form

How can the selection of multiple rows be enabled/disabled?

Most forms allow this basic feature; but Current Materials does not, for some reason.

I want to fix it in Current Materials, and also learn where/how this is controled for better understanding.

The reason for that is Current Materials is not like any other form. There is a sequence number on the materials that has to be recalculated when you change the records and the script for that only works for one record at a time. Also it has to accommodate ECN logic where you don't delete, you obsolete and create a new revision. (You wouldn't be able to make any changes on Current Materials if ECN was enabled anyways, they'd have to go through the ECN forms).

Any idea, anyone?

I've been recommended to try a long list of patches by Infor support, the last one being SL253019 but it has too much impact to properly analyze and install.

If I could just know how to enable multiple row selection in Current Materials it would be much easier.

That is a development pattern, not a feature you can just enable. It requires adding an unbound property for a selection box to the IDO, adding the column for the checkbox to the grid, Form Script logic to do something based on the selection of the checkboxes, and a form button to execute the Form Script logic.

I see what you mean, it would be a possible workaround.

However I'm talking about basic selection on the row number, just outside the grid.

I most (all?) other forms, I can select 100 rows with Click+Shift (like any desktop UI since the last century) and then perform an action on all selected rows (such as Delete). It just does not work in Current Materials on CSI 9.01.01 on-premise.

Wow OK Thanks a lot, great explanation that not even Infor support know...

Saves me a lot of trouble and time trying out various patches to follow Infor's undocumented trial and error.

Since we do not wish to enable ECN (much too heavy process), I guess I could use your previous suggestion of adding a checkbox in the grid... I still won't be able to perform mass delete (because even if I filter on checkbox=1 I still won't be able to do a Select All before hitting Delete), but I will be able to perform Replace Value In Collection to add an Obsolete Date.

I guess we'll continue doing mass changes through Excel template/macro upload, waiting for the external PLM to be stable enough to be synced through CAD-Link module.
