Is ION/IOS stores the data ?

Hello Everyone ,

Just want to know about ION processing logic.

Scenario is below:

ION read the bod/data from the source(File/DB/Infor ERP) system and done the mapping after that the target system is down, in this case how ION handles it.

Whether it stores the read data from source system ? if yes, in which table it will has it.

i greatly appreciate your suggestions.

ION creates 3 tables for each connection point. The name is usually composed out of 16 characters with no meaning but it adds suffix _LOCK, _ACKS and _MSGS to the end.

The actual name for a certain connection point can be found by running query against ION_PROPERTY table (inside of Infor_OS_ION database).

First: select * from ION_PROPERTY where C_PID='<logical_id_without_lid_prefix>' (eg: 'infor.ln.erpln10_5'), read C_VALUE for that record

Second: select * from ION_PROPERTY where C_KEY='<C_VALUE from previous query>', you will get in C_VALUE for this record (property name is ion.queue.broker.url) something like ssl://servername:port?jms.alwaysSyncSend=true#DJKEOMQQKVXTQHSJ..

The table where messages are waiting in this case would be DJKEOMQQKVXTQHSJ_MSGS. The messages will stay there until they are processed by the target sistem.

The relevant question here is - Does ION takes care of message delivery even if the destination is down. The answer is 'Yes'. ION guarantees a message's delivery to its destination using message queues at all costs.There are tools and notifications in place to officially deal with exceptions that may occur on these queues. These are managed via the official UI of ION when necessary. If you find ION to be lacking any features or functions around transit messages, please log a ticket in the ERS.

Beyond this, as the product owner of ION, I do not recommend running queries or any other procedures to deal with these messages. Few years ago, we persisted these messages in flat files. Nowadays its in DB. Tomorrow we may change that to something else. Ultimately, how this is managed is ION's proprietary design. If you build any custom features or functions around today's situation, there is not guarantee that it would continue to work in future.

But a more important risk is that - If you tamper with these messages via queries, you may corrupt ION irreversibly and beyond any repairable state. From an official point of view, customers may not and should not execute direct queries on these tables. When necessary, this must be performed by ION support. Please note that direct access of these tables via queries amount to tampering with the factory settings and it makes your guarantee void. In case of problems in such environments, Infor may not be able to provide any support. Thank you.

As there are no tables listed in ION database I would say that you don't have the appropriate rights to access them...

Now i'm able to see the tables which you have mentioned.
