Storing documents in IDM using ERP LN and ION

Hello All,

I'm new to using IDM, and having experience on ION.

Can anyone suggest me, how to persist the documents in IDM using ION. I have LN ERP, Infor ION 12.0.27(Xi platform) and IDM by default.

I'm planning to persist the documents i mean sales order / purchase orders which are created in Infor LN using ION.

I dont know how to enable these configurations in LN/ION/IDM.

So, if I understand you correctly, you want to generate the documents (SOs and POs) in LN and output them to IDM.

If I was doing this in M3 (I don't know LN), assuming that the Service ID (M3_IDM), Media (*Archive), XML and output services are configured and ready for use, I'd check that the IDM document type was ready for use (attributes, ACLs, Document Type Filter etc) and then, in M3 (MNS205), I'd point the corresponding printer file at it. If everything is configured correctly, the next time a user generates one of those documents, you should get a copy posted to IDM.

Then you can set up all of that wonderful in-context functionality to have copies of the document displayed in the Related Information panels within whatever screens you want it in.

The tricky part is making sure that LN is configured with the required services (Service ID, Media, XML and output). In M3 the *ARCHIVE media is essential. Output to IDM won't work without it. I assume the same is true in LN.

do you mean you want the PO or SO created in Infor LN archived in IDM?

You could print via DOM the order so it will be archived in IDM if that is the case.

You should use DOM (Document Output Management) in LN to have it working. While you are printing the report (in your case SO or PO order) to specific device Infor can render the document (e.g. merge pdf such as Terms&Conditions, …) and distribute it to several recipients. That means it could be sent directly to supplier, manager, … and also to IDM. As a result you can see the report be attached to the actual record of SO/PO.

I'm checking DOM parameters in LN system, those are not set. I'm not sure how to set those parameters in LN, I have ION experience but not LN.

Hi,

DOM doesn't require ION. It is standard functionality of ERP LN. There is official document available on Infor support website (Document code: ttdomug (U9792)). You can set it up according this document as it shows also examples.

for Configuring the DOM, ION is not mandatory. based on our requirement we can configure.

Example : Assume that, i have configured DOM for my PO ,after approve PO i have to print my PO . when process that one copy of PO will send to BP, one copy of PO should save on IDM also we can setup to send one copy to our Mail Box.

this can be done based on your Order type. we can define on order type.
