Documentation or howto for word editing layouts?

Hi,

Does anyone have or know where to find documentation on how to edit word layouts for IDM? Especially using the Word Add-in to edit fields and add custom fields from xml to layouts?

IDM is part of the Infor Operating service (InforOS) documentation links for all apps should be available through

docs.infor.com/.../index.html

I think IDM takes you to xtreme so if you don't see a relevant document/topic in inline documentation please feedback to the documentation team through xtreme.

I took a cursory glance at the IDM user guide and notes it shows you how to install the MS word plugin, but didn't see a how-to guide in there.

I did find this on the InforOS channel on youtube, about 3m40s in, it begins talking about how IDM allows direct editing in MS word as part of the check in/out process. Presumably facilitated by the word add-in.

I'm not going to suggest this as an answer as it doesn't answer the specific question, it is only intended as a guide to help you get this moving forward if no-one else in the community knows.

In KB 1974263 (www.inforxtreme.com/.../SoHoViewSolutionC.aspx you can find information about M3 CE Core Output Management. Under Documentation Infor Document Management you can find a management user guide for IDM Output and also and M3 addendum.

These documents should get you started.

Hi @dhenningsver

I went through your documentation. Can you help me to do this requirement.

I have inserted a XML tag value as a plain text from data file assume it's F1A256 tag. If this F1A256 tag is '' (empty) I want to display F1A530 tag or hardcode some text there. First of all I want to know whether this requirement is possible in IDM word plug-in or not. If it is possible can u tell me how to get this done.
