IONAPI working but APIs are unreachable - Error 500

Hi,

IONAPI looks to be correctly working in our OS installation(ver 12.0.37). But neither widgets can access to M3 APIs nor APPBUILDER can create any dataservice from IONAPI suites.

We gets the error message "Status Code: 500 Unable to retrieve available ION API suits from ION API ...".

In addition to the "by default" OS API suites, we have added an M3 API suite.

User have the needed IONAPI role.

We refreshed the API metadata and the M3 API suite metadata. But, with no results.

Do you have an idea about where the problem may come from ?

Finally the issue has been fixed.

It was due to a wrong Entreprise Search endpoint.

In order to correct this url, it was necessary to :

1) Correct ES endpoint in table « [Infor_OS_Farm].dbo.ServiceConfigurationDetail ».

2) Reinstall « Infor ION API Service » (KB1934131).

Now, we can list the API suites in APPBUILDER :

Hi, we have same issue since 1st January ...everything was working well before and when coming back on 2th January we have this issue , we have restarted IOS, M3 but ION M3 API still KO with error 500 !

On the product side, nothing changed. So it could be something local to your environment.

What does the transaction log in ION API monitoring UI say?

You can enable additional monitoring for the suites you are trying to consume and get more information from the logs. In any case, this seems like a support issue. Please open an Infor Xtreme incident if the issue persists.

I had the same problem. We had to refresh our Oauth credentials and it fixed it. I don't have the details as it was my ops team that did the refresh of the credentials, but this is what fixed our 500 error.

We fixed the issue with M3 API( widgets are working now) by Generating & Applying a Client Certificate for M3 Ion API’s. We used a .doc manual from Xtreme KB. But it was a bit complicated because some fields were not mentionned as mandatory but, on M3 they were infact(Principal name, Tenant name ..).
Now we are trying to get the acces to the Infor provisioned APIs from APPBUILDER. We are digging in the Oauth credentials side. I will send an update.

We manually renewed IONAPI OAuth Credentials in OS DB. But the issue remained.

But, it looks like that's more an APP BUILDER issue. Because, available APIs can be seen in HOMEPAGE widgets.

Any chance you know the details here for the cert you generated?

Principal name = is this an M3 user? An IFS group? Other?

Does it only have the grid-run-as-user role?

I've tried many configurations without success...

A simple test is: use postman and directly call the M3 API (So the target URL is not the ION API proxy URL, but the direct API of M3 server) with the same credentials that you have used to configure M3 on the gateway side.

If you get the same error you see in gateway, then the problem is not in the gateway but on the M3 side.

If calling your M3 API directly works, but fails when called via the gateway - then you need to trace via the gateway monitoring UI and see what goes wrong.. You can enable more logging at the suite level to capture the full trace. (Of course you can try this only because this is an OP installation where you know the M3 endpoint details directly)

I can run from Postman directly to the target M3 REST endpoint using same user but with Basic authorization.

When I run through ION API Gateway I get the following response from ION API GW - monitoring UI shows everything ok up until and including Target Authentication, but M3 being the step after returns 500 and the following response in Postman:

Authentication to ION API Gateway does work, the /infor/Mingle/SocialService.Svc/User/Detail endpoin returns correct user data.

I also get a 500 error also from the target to /infor/IONSERVICES/oneviewapi/ path so that indicates it's something other than the M3 cert (possibly) being the issue...

Any thoughts?
