Using DataView Import/Export Form

I can't import .xml files for a dataview and several dataview layouts because they already exists in the system.

The xml files contain udpates that we need on the data view and data view layouts. What is the proper way importing dataviews and dataview layouts to Infor Syteline 8.03.10

I think you'd either need to change the scope of the ones you're importing (Site, Group, User), or, in the ENV that has your source-DVs, use the DV copy util and rename them and then import the renamed ones.

you can also use the App Data Transport util to copy DVs/CritNumbers, etc. In V8 it's a utility typically run from the util server, and in 10 and later v9s, it's in the app. I just posted this a couple days ago. https://youtu.be/Rw7K_kA15LU

You have to delete the existing (same name) DataViews, then import the new (or same) ones using either the import form or the Metadata Transport Utility. For whatever reason, neither tool includes the option to use drop and create logic, even in CSI 10. The DataViews don't use versioning like IDOs.
