Infor Chat unavailable on Premise

Hi,

It looks that Infor Chat is only available on the Cloud.

That's strange. Because, as far as i'm aware, Infor Chat was created because users weren't very happy with Mingle.

In that case, why dedicating it to Cloud users only ?!

We are implementing M3 on-prem for a customer. we were planning to answer some of the customer's needs with some of the Mingle's collaboration features(streams). But we discovered Streams have been abandoned because dev team focused on Infor Chat. Which is only available on the Cloud.

I understand that Cloud is a very intersesting and promising alternative. But can all the customers and prospects work on the Cloud !

We encountred the same problem with M3 Analytics. Great product, mentionned in all presentations and customers asks for it. But you need Birst and it is on the Cloud only.

I am pretty sure there was an announcement back in the Fall that Infor Chat was being discontinued for lack of use. They mentioned Slack and Microsoft Teams being the predominant players in that realm as the alternative. It was made unavailable to on-premise right away, and discontinued in the Cloud sometime Q1 2020.

The Infor OS Platform serves as the foundation technology layer for Infor CloudSuites and products, specifically in areas related to integration, extensibility, AI, data strategy, and more. As we continue to innovate and improve our product lines, it’s important to assess where we believe we can best help our customers and prospects. Therefore, Infor has completed a portfolio analysis of Infor OS, relating to our current and future product lines. We’ve made strategic determinations of where we believe Infor’s development effort can yield the most benefit to our customers moving forward. Infor OS will continue to stay committed to our foundation in Infor ION, user experience (UX), AI, and data management (Data Lake). However, we are discontinuing further development in some areas, so we can focus investment in areas where we feel they can best help our customers.

Functionality removal updates:

• Infor Chat will no longer be offered as a product, including applicable APIs, effective immediately. Those using Infor Chat today will continue to be able to use the feature (with support) through March 31, 2020; however, after this time the feature will be disabled in all tenants. This update applies to multi-tenant SaaS only; Infor Chat is not available in other deployment scenarios.

o Note 1: Infor is currently evaluating potential opportunities to integrate with other solutions in this space.

o Note 2: The Infor Coleman Digital Assistant functionality that is accessed via Infor Chat today is expected to be available without Infor Chat in the short term. Infor Coleman customers can maintain access to Infor Chat until the time the functionality is separated.

• The Infor Streams, Manual Workflow, Social Objects, and Follow features and APIs associated with Infor OS will be disabled and retired on May 31, 2020. This update will apply to all on-premise and SaaS offerings; support will be maintained through the retirement date. Functionality will continue to be supported on current versions; however, the functionality is expected be removed from the core product with our June 2020 update release (see below).

o Note 3: The ability to manually start a Workflow is expected to transition from the above removed portal feature to the newly released Homepages widget

o Note 4: The Infor Streams, Social Objects, and Follow features were all discontinued in 2018.

Hello Tim,

As we have started using Microsoft Teams 9 months ago, we are looking into integrating it into H5.

Are you aware if there any news/resources on this topic?

I am not. I work mostly with Infor Cloud Suite Industrial, Fourth Shift, and Mapics XA. So am not familiar with H5.
