Set File Name Pattern inside File Connection point using Document's tag

Hi,

I want to set the File name as a combination of Data Time and Invoice number which can retrieved from the Document that is set inside File connection point.

Is it possible to do inside ION.

Hi,

I understand, you want get File name (of the input file) and use it in BOD/further process. Yes, it is possible.

1. select File Attributes, in "File Templates" before generating metadata.

2. New metadata generated will have File Attributes in it.

3. Use the parameters as required.

I think you got the requirement wrong. I am going to generate a XML file using ION file connection point. The name of that XML file should be set as DateTime_<InvoiceNo>.xml. We can get the invoice number from BOD that is set as Document inside the file connection point.

Is there a way to set the InvoiceNo to the file name from input BOD xml tag?

Ok got it. I don't think ION has that provision, the file names are only hardcoded.

I tried the option of creating file names dynamically based on input data, but don't find an option/

I am going to write a XML file using ION file connection point. The name of that XML file should be set as DateTime_<InvoiceNo>.xml. InvoceNo is coming as XML field of input XML file of that file connection point.

I believe @rasangaa would have found the answer. Let say if the invoice id is the document id then we can use the below-naming format in the file connection point to make it work.

[current_datetime]_[document_id].xml
