Vendor Portals

Hello everyone,

My company has recently started to implement the vendor portal. I was wondering if anyone has successfully implemented it and if they can share any information or experience about different road blocks or obstacles that had to be overcome in order to get a well-working portal for your company's business needs. Hearing from other companies may assist us in our requirements analysis and project implementation scheduling.

Here is a list of discussion questions to get started:

Are businesses using vendor portals? If so, are they successful?

Does the Infor vendor portal work for your business?

How long was the implementation and what road blocks did your company face?

Did you have help setting up, configuring, and modifying portals from an outside company?

Any information this group can provide would be very beneficial to our portal project!

Hi Elaine, we are implementing Infor Nexus. Is vendor portal same as Nexus? If yes I can share our experiences.

Hey Sandy, so we do not have Infor Nexus we are currently using Infor CloudSuite or Syteline and a vendor portal comes with it that we have just started to use. We are in a development stage so this is something our suppliers would not use for at least another year. If Infor Nexus has a vendor/supplier portal, it is possible that it is very similar. Some functionality our portal has allows vendors to respond to item price requests (RFQs), check inventory levels, on time delivery, review purchased and planned orders, and pricing contracts. Does any of this sound familiar with Infor Nexus?

Yes, somewhat similar concept. Our suppliers use it to acknowledge the POs and communicates via Nexus if any changes required. Once approved on their side, they generate an ASN in Nexus which sends the ASN to MES for receiving. That is what we use Nexus for. I am not sure about what other features exist in Nexus. We are in the UAT and no major issues so far.
