How to hold compass query editor results in Data Lake or Shared Folder

Hi ,

I have a scenario that i need to use some SQL function and logics to manipulate the data in Data Lake. But i am not able to save the query results in data lake or somewhere. i can see only the export option available.

Please advise me if there any solution to hold or send this query results.

Hi, you can use scripts to call Compass API and save results to a file. I have achieved it via Java program, you can achieve it via any script that can call APIs.

Hey Vadivel,

Sounds like you might have an interesting use case on your hands.

We are working on adding in VIEW concepts into the Data Lake where you'd be able to create a VIEW with your SQL transformations baked into your query against that new virtual object. I don't yet have a date available on when this will drop but would this address some or all of what you're looking to accomplish?

Or are you looking for the ability to save a result set back into the Data Lake as a new, physical file that you could then query (as a new object name)?

If you can share some more info on what you're trying to attack here, perhaps we can look at where it lands on our roadmap or even whether we need to add in a new feature
