Hi,
Can anyone please help me on how can I upload bulk images in idm corresponding to the items in M3 MMS001 program
for e.
I have items in excel sheet and images in a folder location. I am trying this in M3 cloud edition (Multi Tenant).
Thanks
I have been looking for a solution as well. According to the cloud release notes, a feature for that should have been added to the IDM utilities with the latest release. When checking in our environment which has been updated, I see that there is now an excel sheet named "Bulk Import template" available for download. However, the excel sheet itself has no embedded code, and when checking the IDM utilities and documentation for that, I see nothing mentioning the Bulk Import Template.
I am also very eager to learn how to use this new tool.
Hi Mads,
Thanks for the information. Yes I see "bulk import template" under tools->utilities in IDM but no information about how to use it.
May be in next release note there will be some information regarding how to use it.
Hi guys,
Maybe could we ask Rachel Paek to give on the forum some explanations about this as a lot of people wonder how it works. She is the Infor product manager of IDM.
Rachel's answer:
This is not yet released. We’re planning on rolling it out in the June release.
Hi Maxime,
Thanks for the update. We will have to wait for bulk import template excel to use through idm along with the attributes.
But yesterday I was still able to upload bulk files/ images using Idm utilities. Its under Control center->utilities.
We need to have a java 8 + installed on our computer. Give the path of java in Properties of my computer. Download the utilities.jar from idm control center and as per the instruction pdf run the command in command prompt it will open an idm gui. Which can be used to import/export files but not excel i guess.
Have you worked on this idm utilities. I think we can achieve this through idm utility as well but need to do some R &D
I have not had a look at it yet. You seems to be close to the goal
Don't hesitate to share your findings, i am sure it will be quite helpful for a lot of people.
I wanted to provide an update here. It is planned for August release. However, you can update the XLS w/ document information so everything is complete and ready to be imported come August.
This is something that we would also be interested in, will this option scheduled for availability in August (per last comment) also be available for on-prem? Our version of IDM is: 12.0.24.0.327
Thanks for the information. I will do that. Have some examples ready for that to test
Has anyone tried the StreamServe Adapter? It requires one format file, for the attributes, per image, but once you have those you can bulk load thousands of images into IDM with correct attributes tied to products.
Hi Brandon,
Thanks for the reply. Yes we have other ways like from Mongoose also its possible. But we were looking this in IDM itself as we had a excel in idm utilities called "Bulk Import Template" with multiple attributes. But the functionality to use this will be available in August as per above reply
StreamServe Adapter is part of IDM and will import any mime-type setup in IDM, to any Document Type setup in IDM. You download the StreamServe Adapter from the Development Downloads section of IDM Control Center. I have created several mass import projects using this adapter to consume the documents and upload into IDM. I had noticed someone said they were on-prem, so this functionality would not be available until the December Release, at the earliest. Just wanted to bring up a standard IDM function that is available to use today.

We have the same issue in our implementation project right now. Our infor consultant presented a possibility to "listen" to a hot folder.
Pictures are identified by filename = itemnumber.
Works fine in the first presentation.
