Transformation from JSON to XML in Single Tenant ION 12.0.28

Hi,

Is there a way we can do the JSON to XML transformation in ION 12.0.28?

We are receiving the JSON file via IMS from a 3rd party Application.
I could see there is an Auto transformation feature available in IONAPI Connection Point.But we can't use it in my case. XSLT also not possible.
Appreciate any possible solutions.

Python scripting is a Multi Tenant only feature. The only option to do it in OP/ ST installation is via an external API. It can be a dummy API that does nothing but echoes back the input. Then you can register the API as an ION API. Then you can use the inbuilt options in the ION API connector to do this conversion.. Or write your own ION API request or response policy that can do this for you..

Hi,

You need to write a python script in ION desk to convert the json to xml first. And then that XML you can use to do xslt mapping with the ION BOD you want.

Hi,, I think Scripting available only for Multi-Tenant.

We are using Single Tenant 12.0.28. I think even the upgrade won't help here

Do we have any options in OS Tech Stack where we can create such ECHO REST API?
Looks like there are several ways to create such API using different technologies, But it also needs a external Web Server to host the API that needs additional maintainence. As we are relying totally on Infor OS hence looking for a possible solutions inside OS/M3.

We have created EchoAPI and installed this service in Infor OS Grid(Buldled the REST service as WAR file and installed it in the InforOS service).
we are able to do JSON to BOD transformation by using IONAPI Connection Point.

But now we are facing a strange issue.

As you see below, we are using IONAPI Connection Point, selecting the option 'TriggerAPI' as we need to pass 'BYPurchaseOrder' JSON file as an input and to retrieve 'BYBODPurchaseOrder' BOD as output of the IONAPI ConnectionPoint.

We are getting the BOD content as output response as expected But it is coming with input JSON document type name 'BYPurchaseOrder' instead of the Output BOD Document name 'BYBODPurchaseOrder'.

i.e The Output of the IONAPI is showing BOD content but with the Document name as 'BYPurchaseOrder' i.e Input JSON Schema document name

Any idea why this is happening? We have tried several troubleshooting but no luck so far.

Can you be more specific? Am I right in assuming that, the XML payload content's DataArea/Noun is not changed and still called as 'BYPurchaseOrder' but the Document name in the message header is called 'BYBODPurchaseOrder'? In other words, are you able to route the output of API step to the next step? (i.e., simply transport the output content of the API step to another connection point that is able to receive it?) You can check the value in header Vs Payload etc and confirm this by looking into oneview.

If the answer is yes, it means, the echo API is still doing what you ask it to do. It is just doing an one to one conversion of JSON body payload into its XML equivalent. Obviously this doesn't change the payload noun name element to "BYBODPurchaseOrder'. To do that, you may want to write an additional JSON transformation response policy on your API on the ION API gateway, intercept the API response, look for the Document name element and change the value to what you want.
