Display hard coded value or XML tag value if expected value is empty in IDM word plug-in

I have inserted a XML tag value as a plain text from data file assume it's F1A256 tag. If this F1A256  tag is '' (empty) I want to display F1A530 tag or hardcode some text there. 

First of all I want to know whether this requirement is possible in IDM word plug-in or not. 

If it is possible can somebody help me to get this done.
