Can ION API Connection Point listen to web-hooks ?

Hello there,

With reference to one of the integration requirements, Can anyone please tell me if "ION API Connection Point" can listen to a particular web-hook generated by a Non-Infor third party Product.

Since I do not have more knowledge about ION API Connection point, I am not able to figure out if ION API Connection Point is suitable to listen to a web-hook.

Hi,

As far as i know, this is not possible.The current ION API connection point is supposed to be scheduled to retrieve data from another apps or can be triggered if data is incoming ION (but this data must be a BOD). But i may be wrong.

Thank you for sharing the insights. May be it is not possible to listen to a web hook through ION API Connection Point. But MEC can. I'm further checking the possibilities.

ION is an asynchronous platform. Can you explain your end to end use case where you need to react to a webhook via an ION flow?

I also got plenty of use cases where I would like the support for Webhooks in ION. One recent example is a project where a customer wants to integrate Salesforce with M3. My understanding is that Salesforce has very good support for creating Webhooks, but we end up having to develop custom Get APIs on the Salesforce side that will respond back with the changed Salesforce objects since the last time the API was called.

We then schedule the ION connection point to go look for changes every so often.

I got plenty of more 3rd-party system use cases like that but that's my most recent example.

Apologies for this delay in coming back to you but I was awaiting for the webex with the third party PLM Technical Team so that I can get more information on what technical architecture is in place in their system which we can listen to in ION. I was assuming that it should be a web-hook. They are going to share a documentation with me which would describe their way of generating an event for us to capture. I will keep you posted on any update that I receive.
