Hi,
one common request with cost allocation is to close services and auxiliary cost centers into production or final cost centers. Typically this is a multistep process using intermediate centers. The characteristic of this process is that the numbers of cost center to be discharged could be very hight (in order of >50). Sometimes data need to be allocated using absorption criteria sometimes simply using percentage. When using percentages a matrix with a list of closing centers and a list of destination centers should be used. Now I'm trying to figure out how to do this with the standard depm allocation module. Firstly i suppose to use the loop properties available with reference dimensions and data area dimension but if i well-understood "loop" can be used to calculate a relative percentage based on certain criteria not as a looping criterion for a subset of source elements. As an example consider the Production Organization center in standard depm demo. It has got 2 final centers (production line 501 and production line 502) and 2 intermediate centers (Pool of Employee and Workshop). The allocation criteria for the total cost of intermediate could be:
Pool of Employee => 50% Line 501 and 50% Line 502
Workshop => 60% Line 501 and 40% Line 502.
How can we model this in the standard module? Do I need to create two steps o parameters rules with two drivers? This can be done with a few but what when the number of centers (source and target) is hight and variables?
How do you model this request?
Thanks in advance.
