Stop Rows from Expanding when hidden

Hi,

I have attached an image of an example report (File Name - Example Report). In this report I want to hide the total row which is highlighted in yellow.

When I do hide this specific row, it tends to show the blank row (highlighted in yellow) in my toolbar panel area as shown in my File named "Output after hiding the row".

I have already used horizontal and vertical freeze panes for the toolbar area, to make sure it doesn't expand, but the blank row still appears.

Any solutions to overcome this scenario?

Amritha, not sure I'm following this - if you hide the row (I guess we are talking about AppStudio, right?) it should be hidden. I would also not recommend hiding row/column, but putting the height/width to 'false' (controlled by variable). This dramatically simplifies the design task.

Yes this is a scenario I am experiencing in Application Studio.

To explain about the scenario further, A Hyperblock is expanded across this hidden row, but it's a blank line which is used to show the total of the elements in the Hyperblock. When I hide this row, the blank row tends to appear in my selection panel on the Left hand side if you look at the Sample report I've done on Excel.

I used the Horizontal & Vertical Freeze for the selection panel area to stop the rows from expanding, but unfortunately that didn't work either.

I'll try out the approach you mentioned about putting the height to 'False', and see if it works accordingly.

Another thing to try. I've actually seen a few instances of this where the "phantom" row is actually caused by the frozen area or another frozen area. (from the App Studio toolbar - not the View > Freeze Panes toolbar)

So when it happens to me, a frozen area is a few lines below a hyperblock (usually automatically put in from a report object). Then there is a blank line or an unintended line inserted into the hyperblock when it gets expanded. No matter what I do to hide/show rows it still shows up. So if the unintended line appears 5 rows into your hyperblock for example, check 4-6 rows below your hyperblock for a frozen area. If you remove frozen areas there you may have success with hiding the highlighted "phantom" row from your screenshot.

Let me know if this isn't exactly clear. Tough to show in screenshots sometimes
