Export Source Data to Excel

Hello,

VERY new to Infor, d/EPM, App Studio and OLAP Cubes in general. Is it possible to export the detailed data of an aggregated App Studio report? I've seen the report book option...thinking of a 2 tab excel report. First tab contains the rolled up, aggregated report. While the second tab contains the detailed or raw data that supports the first tab. I understand that could be quite a bit of data, just wondering if it's an option.

Hello Jason,

I am not so familiar with Report Books, but yes, it is possible to have an Excel output with different tabs. In the Report Book yopu can define the Reports exported. It could be two times the same report with different parameter settings or different reports. To get everything in one file, the "File name" has to be the same.

I have added a screenshot with the settings.

Jason, welcome to d/EPM World! Just to add to it.

When you want to export data, I guess the first question would be - do you just want to export data, or you want to create reports (formatted). For reports, Report books is good functionality!

For data, I would use either Application Engine sample where you can choose any data set and move it to local file (or repository file in case of cloud), Excel (either Office Plus or Excel Integration), Export Cube functionality of Import Master if you have it. All of this options will give you better performance and still controlled export options to work with data.

Hi Jason,

How will the aggregate data be used? Is it intended to be loaded somewhere else? Are you seeking to provide detail to a summary report? You might consider using a report jump to link two reports so that the user can click through the account to the detail for the data intersection instead of giving them a bulk data dump.
