Sorting in a slice

I'm interested to know if anyone has actually managed to get a sort in a slice to work? I've put a sort against the first dimension in the slice and broken the hierarchy but it it not working. This seems like such a basic thing yet it is not working. Any ideas?

After further investigation it looks as though the sort is working with 6 dimensions in the slice rows. It kind of works with 7 dimensions. But does not work at all over 7 dimensions. This is an issue as I need a minimum of 12 dimensions.

Does anyone know of a work around for this situation?

Alison, this is interesting, I've never noticed that behavior before. Was it sent/confirmed with Infor d/EPM Support? I would start from there.

As I workaround for 12 dimensions I would definitely use relational OLAP access - it might be much easier with writing queries with bigger set of horizontal dimensions.

Hi Alison,

if you are using Infor BI Version 11 please have a look at KB1974388 in Infor Support Portal. Perhaps you can use a variable slice to solve this sorting problem.
