Use XML variables in Application Engine

Hello together,

I would like to pass multiple values (48) from AppStudio to Application Engine. Therefore a XML Variable would be well suited. But it seems there are no XML classes available in AE. Has anyone an idea if this is possible, without writing a parser using String transformations?

Hi Nick,

thanks for that offer, even if we created a workaround using semicolon separated strings I would be very interested how it could be solved. Would also be great if there would be an option to write multiple values with one command instead of writing single cells values , if this is available please also show it .

Hello Peter, hello Nick,

maybe I was not clear enough. I want to pass 48 values (4*12 matrix) from Application Studio to Application Engine in order to write them to a database from there. This is a typical XML Use Case. Creating the XML would be quite easy in AppStudio using the according formulas. But I didn't find a way to parse it in AppEngine without writing a parser based on string functions.

As a workaround (so I don't have 48 variables) I used 4 string variables each containing the 12 values comma separated.

Another would be to write back the cells first and then trigger the AppEngine. At least in v11 I found no way to trigger a Writeback to Cells Values and a call to AppEngine with one button click (w/o scripting).

Nevertheless there might also be other scenarios where (meta) information could be passed in one variable.
