What is the best way to connect to an external system via web services or API?

Hello,

We are new users of Cloudesuite Industrial hoping to go live in the next couple of months. I am trying to send data to our Avatax system based on a change to the customer record. Avatax has a standard API that I can connect to. I have reviewed the Application Event System, I can trigger an email, but I am not sure of how best to update the external Avatax system. I appreciate any thoughts or suggestions. Thank you.

If you want to invoke an api call using Application Event System (AES) you can use the Call IDO Method in Event Action. This lets you run a routine attached to an ido.
