Infor ION 2020-12 Compatability with Older Syteline Versions

Hi All,

We have a customer who is currently running CSI 9.00.20 who are looking to implement Infor ION. Looking at the release notes for that version, I can see that there is some compatibility with Infor ION 11.0.

I'd ideally prefer installing the most up to date version of ION/OS that I possibly can. Can anyone please confirm if the latest release of ION Still supports the older versions of Cloudsuite Industrial?

Depends what you mean by "supports". If all you want is to exchange BODs, you should be fine. The proper integration of CSI into the Mingle wrapper starts with 9.01.00

I know of one customer running CSI 9.00.30 with OS 12.0.13. I guess the thing to be careful with is the version of the BOD schema. I'm not sure how close you could get to the current OS release. 12.0.32 or 12.0.37 would useful (the change to Elastic Search is a big improvement for purging).

Yeah sorry, perhaps I should have been a little more clear. One of the big features that they're hoping to eliminate is to have the 'contextual window' present. So they would access the CSI Web Client inside mingle / OS and be able to view the related documents that are hosted inside of IDM. That's what we're trying to achieve.

To me that sounds like it's going to be a 9.01.00 exclusive?

If they want the full Mingle wrapper experience then CSI 9.01 is the minimum. The APAR to add the IDM integration wasn't released until 9.01.02 (and 9.01.02 is the first reasonably stable service pack). I've worked on a few CSI 9.01.02 / OS 12.0.x systems and they're OK but there are a few quirks in the way SecurityUserMaster and SecurityRoleMaster BODs are handled which weren't ironed out until CSI v10.
