Dear all,
Does anyone can guide me on how to adjust session timeout settings on Mongoose/Factory Track on a CloudSuite environment ?
Many thanks.
David.
I think you have to play with the various Web.config files on your Factory Track IIS Server (assuming you're asking for the Web client, not Smart Client). You have several such Web.config files in C:inetpubwwwroot and then subfolders WSWebClient, IDORequestService, IDORuntimeWebService... each having their own parameters for timeouts, max file/request size, etc. There are also parameters in Factory Track's UI, Process Defaults form: "Client minutes to ping session" and "Minutes to close orphan sessions" that you should adjust too.
Thank you Florent. But as I mentioned, we are in a cloud environment so we don't have access to any configuration file on the IIS server..!
Let's start here: In what part of your application are you timing out - that you want to adjust the settings?
Hi Jaclyn,
The timeout we have is on the Factory Track user session. If no user input is done on Factory Track after certain time, the user is disconnected. We would like to increase this time.
"CloudSuite" doesn't mean you're cloud, it's just the rebranded product name. We are 100% on-premise with CloudSuite Industrial.I didn't even know Factory Track was available cloud... is that really working well? (no complaints from floor users about system speed/reactivity?).
In any case you should be at least able to control part of these timeouts in Process Defaults. For the rest I cannot say.
Hi David, the application pool timeout comes to mind here. Is it less than 30 minutes before it times out on them? Default is 20 minutes, and can be increased within reason. I believe CSI apps are set at 120 minutes, giving the users 2 hours to be away before they IIS session is removed, and resulting in session expired. This can be adjusted with a support incident and support will work with Cloud Ops to implement. Just provide them with your tenant name, to locate the farm - to look at.
