Open a form automatically

Is there a way in MT CSI to open a form automatically at a certain time? The form looks at the IDO, scans 1 column in the IDO and if it finds a "0" in that record it sends an email then closes itself down. I am guessing there is a better way of dealing with this other than opening and closing a form I just went this route as a way to test the File Server setup.

The Mongoose Application Event System ( AES ) is built to do this based on change of data transactions. So if someone modifies or adds a record and that column changes to a 0, it triggers an event. That event can call a standard GenericSendEmail event to send an email to a user or group of users.

The AES system is extremely powerful and can automate many workflow tasks.

Thank you, what you put there worked perfectly when I manually add in a row to the table. I assumed it didnt matter but the data that is being loaded into the form is coming from FT and a Custom Assembly is putting the data into the IDO and it looks like it bypasses the layer that the AES runs on.

I am assuming that they are using SQL cmds to add the record then, which yes, walks around the mid tier. You could trigger the AES event after the fact, but if they access the table directly there is no way to capture that action.

try implement a new AES event to run every 5 sec (or other) from an AES event trigger;

If I manually add items to the grid I get an email using the IdoPostItemInsert Event. When I try to pass in the information from the FT/Custom Assembly I am getting the error;

In the IdoPostItemInsert Event Handler I have hard coded the IDM File Server, LogicalFolder and this works when I add a record directly to the grid.

If I de-activate the Event Handler and try the FT/Custom Assembly again it works and adds a record successfully but obviously no email because the Event Handler isnt active.

Any ideas?
