Cloud File Transfert Client vs Enterprise Connector ?

In the document "Infor M3 Cloud Configuration Guide", there is a paragraph concerning the installation of the "Cloud File Transfer" software.

However, I already have the "Enterprise Connector" software installed on my computer.

Do you think that this two products are compatible on the same machine ?

Does-it meaningfull do install both ?

I have headd that CFT software is a mandadory component if you want to export/import data on M3 ? Is-it really the case or may be I have not the right view on the subject.

I have the Enterprise Connect and CFT running on the ION Grid. I sized an aws ec2 instance and installed the EC first. I downloaded the cft zip, which includes a FileTransferCient.gar, so I used the grid administrator to install the gar. The zip file includes a properties file, I homerun my clients to c:infor.

If you opt to run multiple apps on the grid, you will need more horsepower, my ec2 instance is t2.large,

You indirectly confirm that these 2 components must be installed and moreover that these 2 components can reside on the same machine.

Thank you for telling me that, as I already have Enterprise Connector, I only need to install the "missing" FTC part with the grid using the corresponding .gar file.

I still haven't fully understood what FTC is for when EC is already in place. But I have the impression that it is specifically this component that is required if one wants to use data import/export features in M3.

Hi,

EC is an application that connects to ION (and IDM if you use IDM Printout) and is used to communicate data between ION cloud and on-prem or other cloud server

CFT is an application connected to M3 and is used to connect to a server (on-prem or cloud) to store/retreive files from the M3 business engine such as printer files, configuration files or other files that can be exported/imported through the Admin tools in M3.

In a demo environment I have installed both application on the same server and they can run together without problems. In a production environment you might want to separate them but I'm not sure what the best practise is.

@robert-nevinger : Thank you for your advice. Grid, It is a quite new environnment for me and I am not very familiar with this. It has been installed within the Entreprise Connector set up. After that, it has been enriched for enabling printing on the network. So I would not to introduce any problem.

Could you guide me on how to install the FileTransferCient.gar on an existing Grid ?
