How to set structure to workflow using ION API

Hello all,

Does anyone know how to set workflow structure in Ming.le API /IONDataService.Svc/User/{userGuid}/Workflow/Start?

I would like to start a workflow by using the above Ming.le API, however I'm not sure how to set the structure part in the API JSON body.

Hi all,

I am able to find another API that available under Infor ION > IONProcessApplicationService > Workflow.

/infor/IONSERVICES/process/application/v1/workflow/start

This API has provide the sample request body for workflow parameter (inputVariables) as well as the workflow structure. You could follow the sample body to define the workflow structure under inputStructures portion

Here are list of the date type:

"INTEGER",
"DECIMAL",
"BOOLEAN",
"DATETIME",
"TIME",
"DATE",
"DURATION",
"IDENTIFIER"

I'll try to find a sample, but for now know that:

If your workflow does not use structures then there is not need to include the structure portion of the API call.
If the workflow has structures, it is mandatory to specify these in the API request to start the workflow. If the API client does not have values for the structure, it must specify at least the structure name, without any child elements. In this case, the workflow will start with an empty structure
when a workflow is started, the incoming data sent for structures will be re-ordered according to the structure defined in the workflow model (this behavior is the same as for structure sent via Process.Workflow BODs)

Hi Keith,

Yes, my workflow has use structure but I don’t know how to pass the structure portion to the API call.

The swagger test body only show sample of workflow parameter portion (startParameter) but didn’t show how to define the structure portion.
